Apply for Observer Status

As of March 2019, the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations (CASA) requires that non-member student associations who want to attend the organization's conferences must apply for formal observer status. To apply, please send a letter of intent to CASA's Board of Directors at [email protected] and [email protected]. In this letter, please outline why you want to attend CASA's conferences as an observer, and what your interest is in federal student advocacy.

If the Board of Directors approves the student association's application for observer status, that association can maintain their observer status for a time period of two years, during which period they are allowed to attend all conferences. Observers must still pay the observer registration fee of $100 per delegate for each conference. This allows observers to have the potential to experience each conference the organization hosts first-hand, as well as have two years of executive councils' input into whether CASA meets their association's advocacy needs. After two years, observers shall be required to wait one year before re-applying for observer status.

If you have any questions about CASA's observer status, please contact our Member Relations Officer at [email protected].
